Headquartered in Seattle Washington, DutySmith designs and manufactures duty accessories for the uniformed professional who values quality, function and performance. The standard duty belt hasn't changed in form or function for over a hundred years. DutySmith is here to change that.

Ryan and David started Speck Design 15 years ago and it is now the leading product design firm in Silicon Valley. They successfully launched Speck Products, one of the leading case vendors in the US. Recently, with Graeme Esarey they started Camera Armor an innovative camera accessory company. Camera Armor was acquired by the largest player in the protective case industry, allowing the team to focus on DutySmith.

With more than 20 years of experience in product design, our team has worked on and patented products in fields from medical to automotive to consumer products. In the last 2 years, we have patented more than a dozen products aimed at protecting gear from the elements, and have worked directly with major CE companies to assure that our products meet their needs for quality and for performance.

Today’s Duty Gear works hard, and is expected to be extremely durable. At the same time, comfort is more and more important as professionals are required to work longer hours in difficult environments. Using input and data from the US military, with designers whose job it is to design and test tactical gear, we have clear insight into the needs of our customers and understand the demand for quality.

With that in mind we have created a Technical Advisory Group staffed with industry professionals from different sectors of our customer base, and whose job it is to test and to improve the designs we produce. After rigorous use and on-the-job testing, we deploy feedback to our developers, and they build in the changes that our customers request.

DutySmith possesses the ingenuity and skills to create truly unique, patentable accessories for the uniformed professional. We talk regularly to the people who rely on their duty belts and are always looking for feedback on what works and what doesn't. If you have feedback, an idea, or a problem with your gear that we can help with, please contact us directly at info@dutysmith.com. Our goal is to bring the Duty Belt into the 21st century so that our users can have a functional belt and accessories that look the part while outperforming any other system on the market.

SpeedSet Duty Belt

The SpeedSet Duty Belt was designed with uniformed professionals in mind. SpeedSet improves on typical duty belts in a number of areas: added safety, comfort and ease of use. Utilizing an elastomeric belt with a mechanically fastened steel rail, your accessories clip to the belt as opposed to the traditional thread-through method. This allows fast access to your accessories & reconfiguration on the fly - all without removing the belt. Disassembling an entire belt to remove a flashlight ring is now a thing of the past. Thanks to our low profile buckle, SpeedSet offers up to 25% more usable belt space up front - the most accessible area of the belt. Moving accessories up front results in better comfort - you'll never sit on your cuffs again. The SpeedSet Duty Belt also provides every accessory with a full 360º ratcheting pivot for comfortable positioning and ease of access.

SpeedSet Universal Radio Holder

The SpeedSet Universal Radio Holster is the perfect radio holster for the SpeedSet duty belt. Featuring full 360º ratcheting pivot & the SpeedSet Locking Clip, you are guaranteed fast access and simple reconfiguration on duty. Our Patent Pending retention system makes sure your radio, whatever model, stays secure.

SpeedSet Baton Holder

The SpeedSet Baton Holder is the perfect Baton Holder for the SpeedSet System. Like all DutySmith duty gear it features the SpeedSet Locking Clip for fast access and simple reconfiguration. The 360º ratcheting pivot on the Holder also allows you to rotate the baton, meaning it will never get in the way when you need to take a seat again.

SpeedSet Single Cuff Holder

The SpeedSet Single Cuff Case is the perfect Cuff Case for the SpeedSet System. Like all DutySmith duty gear it features the SpeedSet Locking Clip for fast access and simple reconfiguration. The 360º ratcheting pivot on the cuff case, and the quick release Locking Clip means you'll never sit on your cuffs again.

SpeedSet Flashlight / OC Holder

The SpeedSet Flashlight / OC Holder is a Universal Holder designed specifically for the SpeedSet System. Like all DutySmith duty gear, it features the SpeedSet Locking Clip for fast access and simple reconfiguration. The 360º ratcheting pivot allows rotation of your accessory, meaning it will never get in your way when you need to take a seat again.

SpeedSet Glove & Key Holder

The SpeedSet Glove & Key Holder is a convenient two in one storage space which boasts the same patent pending features as all DutySmith duty gear. Full 360º ratcheting pivot & SpeedSet Locking Clip means you are always guaranteed fast access and simple reconfiguration.
